Joy has been living in Bartlesville Oklahoma
for most of her life except for five wet and green years in Athlone Ireland.
At the age of 5, before leaving for Ireland,
she was playing piano and getting the highest marks at recitals. At the age of 6 she moved to Ireland
and in that first year she was one of the leads in the school play, which was in the Irish language.
After returning from Ireland
she began playing the violin in school and is now learning the base guitar on her own. She has a set of drums sitting and
waiting for the punishment they are going to endure. Her parents just can’t wait.
She is also actively involved in the local film
industry, having attended various seminars around the state on acting and filmmaking. She has been a crew member on several
Oklahoma Movie Maker projects and was a volunteer for the last two Oklahoma Film Societies Real2Reel workshops. She has a
co-starring role in the current Darkwood Studios project “Sacred Bloods.” A graphic novel and future TV project
are being generated around her character from the movie.
While in Ireland
she earned a brown belt in karate and was working on her black belt. Besides the weapons training involved in karate she is
enrolled in a class to learn a variety of sword and other hand weapon fighting techniques.
Her goal right now is to become a model, while
her parents are gently nudging her toward acting.
